"A little Secret about your Therapist...
Your therapist doesn't just hold you in mind for the hour that you sit with them. They research topics related to your case outside of session, spend hours doing notes and treatment planning for you. they hold you in mind between sessions. When something they see reminds of them of you, they think about you. They talk to colleagues about you to ensure they are providing you the best treatment.
It's more than one hour."
"You made me feel appreciated and loved, yet made me think about how to improve my situation."
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based psychotherapy with proven results in treating individuals suffering from anxiety, phobias, depression, prolonged grief, PTSD and much more. Trained ART clinicians facilitate clients' reconsolidation or 're-storage' of distressing memories in a way which returns the client to normal functioning. Clients follow the ART therapist's hand movements with their eyes while processing the memories. These memories are then recoded and stored. Although these memories are not completely erased, they lack the previous powerful physiological and psychological effects which made day to day functioning a challenge. The benefit of ART is the client is not required to recount the troubling memories. And by the end of the process, the therapist has assisted the client in creating a more tolerable ending to difficult prior memories. Images and metaphors along with eye movements play a crucial role in the process. As a Certified Basic ART Practitioner, I am happy to assist you as you work toward more positive and present in your current experiences and interactions.
As part of ART training, I had to experience the process for myself. It's remarkable easy and something that could help so many people. In fact, I enjoyed being able to rewrite memories in a manner which brought me peace and closure.

A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
"It's a marathon not a sprint"
Once a solid rapport is established, I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients. I am happy to encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. If we look at counseling as a marathon, it is important to understand that in counseling the finish line can move. What you begin counseling for can shift and change and still be exactly what you needed. My clients feel safe and understood during this process. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
"Thetis made a tremendous difference in the lives of my two teenage daughters. Having an insightful, compassionate person to speak with and bounce ideas off of was a tremendous help as they faced some very difficult life situations. Creating a safe and trusting environment for them to talk was critical as they did not always want to speak with their parent. My daughters and I highly recommend."
